Menopause is a natural biological process that marks the end of a woman’s reproductive years. Menopause is defined as the permanent cessation of menstruation, which means that a woman has gone 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period.
Symptoms of Menopause
Causes of Menopause
Menopause occurs due to the gradual decline in the production of hormones, primarily estrogen and progesterone, by the ovaries. The specific cause of this hormonal decline is related to aging and the depletion of a woman’s ovarian follicles, which are structures that contain immature eggs. As these follicles are depleted over time, the ovaries produce less estrogen and progesterone, leading to the symptoms and changes associated with menopause.
